Since 2017 LAPS has spayed/neutered over 2,500 stray dogs and has vaccinated over 7,000.
Welcome to Lucky Animal Protection Shelter
Lucky Animal Protection Shelter (LAPS) is the first and only registered dog-rescue and animal-protection shelter in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
LAPS provides daily care and sanctuary to more than 300 rescued dogs, supports abandoned cats, and feeds more than 100 free-roaming dogs in surrounding communities each day.
Rabies remains a serious public-health threat in Pakistan, while limited rescue services, veterinary resources, and humane dog-population-management programs leave communities and animals without adequate support. Free-roaming animals also face injury, illness, abandonment, neglect, and mistreatment.
Since 2017, LAPS has vaccinated more than 8,000 animals and completed more than 3,500 spay/neuter procedures. Its work includes rescue, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, rabies prevention, humane population management, public education, adoption, and emergency and disaster response.
Through formal collaborations with the University of Agriculture Peshawar and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, LAPS is also helping connect practical animal-welfare work with veterinary education, shelter medicine, student training, community outreach, public health, and One Health.
